I already use back-office planning but without exact geographical information. What is your estimation of the cost savings I can expect?

We experience at least 10-20 % savings on travel time and travel distance.

Can Optimize My Day optimize across resources, i.e. does it consider assigning a task to a different resource to decrease overall costs?

Yes. Optimize My Day uses a concept called "Territories". A territory can represent a geographical or logical group of resources. During optimization, Optimize My Day can reassign a task to another resource in the same territory, if the overall cost is lower.

Which Planning Constraints are supported?

As part of the planning criteria supported by Optimize My Day, it is possible to plan tasks at a fixed date and time (appointments). Customer information such as opening hours and maintenance contract restrictions are constantly taken into account during planning and optimization. Furthermore, skill constraints, parts availability and travel constraints such as required travel time and distance are automatically taken care of, avoiding overlaps or inaccurate calculation of Expected Time of Arrival (ETA). Note that priority and urgency factors must be translated into a valid response time to be comparable to other tasks with similar restrictions. Read the Feature List for further planning criteria.

Yes. You can configure Optimize My Day to automatically calculate and optimize plans.

What is the average implementation duration?

If you use manual upload of data, you can implement Optimize My Day within two to three days. In a complex environment with an automated interface, training requirements and detailed parameterization, an implementation can take between one to three weeks.

Can I make a snapshot of a current plan and work on it without corrupting production data?

Yes. You may save a plan in an independent Excel file and reuse that file for what-if scenarios in a different configuration to
even further optimize plans and learn from the past.

Can I use Optimize My Day to re-evaluate territories or districts?

Yes. You can take a snapshot of an existing plan and reassign mass data of a certain period to available resources without the "Use Territories" option. This will give you a new optimized set of districts. You can re-apply this procedure from time to time, reconsidering changes in your list of customers.

Can I visualize one or more trips?

Yes. Apart from a simple drawing during visual planning, showing the locations and the links between the stops of a trip, you may visualize a set of trips on a detailed geographical map, showing the days in various colors and allowing to zoom into certain regions.

How accurate is the geographical localization of an address? Which fields do I need to provide?

Accuracy is configurable. The map can work with street and house number ranges, thus allowing an accuracy of around 10-20 m. The localization of addresses is performed automatically by Optimize My Day or during the upload process by using the Geocoder utility that matches an address table and stores the GPS coordinates with the tasks. Uploads with GPS data is also possible.

How can I integrate Optimize My Day into my back-office system?

Optimize My Day supports XML and Excel interfaces. Files can be uploaded through a form with the Optimize My Day front-end or they can be posted automatically by using the Upload Web Services. You will always use the HTTP or HTTPS protocol for data exchange over the internet.

Which databases are supported?

The Optimize My Day service is an online server. It does not require additional hardware apart from a client PC or mobile device. If you want to integrate the service on premises for any reason, contact us for more details.

Does Optimize My Day support Multiple Countries?

Yes. Optimize My Day supports the use of territory definitions with specific territories assigned to specific users. Relationships between users and territories are Many to Many (m:n). Therefore, gradual extensions of the list of countries and/or regions as well as cross-border planning are possible.

Which languages are supported?

Optimize My Day's user interface is available in English, French, German, Dutch and Spanish. Other languages can be delivered on request.

Does Optimize My Day support Multiple Engineers on one task?

Optimize My Day is capable of grouping tasks, allowing the definition of a list of tasks that are to be scheduled sequentially or concurrently by different engineers with potentially different skill sets.

Does Optimize My Day support multiple time zones?

Optimize My Day is capable of handling various time zones simultaneously as long as the back-office ERP system allows the distinction of temporal data across different time zones.

Which reports are available?

Optimize My Day contains a large set of Key Performance Indicators which are constantly updated while working with the plan. These figures are very useful for service managers to identify bottlenecks and cost-excessive scenarios. It also allows control during what-if scenarios. Route reports, occupancy and status reports are standard. Further data can be extracted by using adaptable XSL style sheets.
